Let me tell you a little about the journey of “Wetherid”. I have always been a passionate admirer of the great master of fantasy, J.R.R. Tolkien, and have always held the utmost respect for his creations. His works have inspired and shaped me, and I carry his influence with pride.

It all started in 2002 when I came up with a bedtime story for my then-sick girlfriend. She recognized something special in my storytelling talent, so I decided to put my thoughts on paper and write down a few pages of what was to become an epic story.

Years passed, life happened, and I sporadically revised the story. In 2004, my son was born, and I began to work out the second chapter. More years passed, and in 2007, my daughter was born, prompting me to revisit and refine chapters one and two once again.

Fast forward to 2009, my second daughter arrived, and I made the bold decision to write seriously, to write daily until I had completed all four chapters. But honestly, when I was done, I realized that my writing skills… well, they needed work. Despite having a beginning and an end, I couldn’t bear the thought of someone reading my poorly written masterpiece. So, I put it away for a while.

In 2019, I took out the manuscript and set out to revise it, aiming to add a more artistic touch. But I realized that I might need to improve in the writing department. It wasn’t until 2022 that I really made significant changes, especially to the first chapter, which, let’s be honest, was not the strongest.

Even in 2023, after several revisions, the first chapter still didn’t quite hit the mark. But hey, the story had to start somewhere, right? I made some adjustments, polished the plot and characters, and finally thought, “You know what? This might actually be good enough that someone might enjoy it, especially my children.”

Ultimately, “The Chronicles of Wetherid – The Legacy of the Elves” is a story born from a love of storytelling and matured through years of development and revision into an adventure I can share with pride. It is my hope that this journey through the fantastic world of Wetherid will captivate and inspire readers just as it has captivated and inspired me.

So, here we are in 2024, and I’ve decided to take the plunge. In this year, “Wetherid” will see the light of day. It’s been quite the journey, and I can’t wait to share this adventure with the world.
